Lupins are mainly cultivated in Australia, South America and Europe.

The world's centre of bulk lupin cultivation is Western Australia with an annual harvesting quantity of 1.3 to 1.8 million metric tons.

Beside Western Australia, significant quantities of lupins are cultivated in North Eastern Europe, in France, in Spain, in Portugal and in some Latin American countries.
